Having acted as a construction base for the Gunfleet Sands, Greater Gabbard and London Array offshore wind farms, the port has extensive experience in this market sector. It offers a wide range of services, including turbine and foundation storage, dive support, cable transfer, CTV and accommodation vessel operations. Large areas of open storage are also available for long-term rental.
With a strong record in mobilisation and demobilisation operations, as well as offering support services for various types of offshore operations, the port has steadily developed an important role in the Southern North Sea and looks to further expand on this in years to come.
With numerous fields having ended, or nearing the end, of their commercial lives, decommissioning operations in the North Sea offer both very real challenges and opportunities, in the coming decades. Operating from a sheltered location, with large areas of land immediately available for occupancy and an excellent proximity to market, Harwich International is ideally placed to support this important and fast growing sector.
